ganbare yo!
we don’t know about you, but for us, most todo apps suck.
they are all pressure, and red text reminding you of failures, and those same old tasks that you just don’t have energy for you staring you in the face, day after day.
how we are different
ganbare yo is different. written by neurodivergent people, it is designed to help you focus on what you said you want to do TODAY, and only today. want to do something in the future? no worries, it’s simple to schedule something. need recurring reminders? we got you.
when the scheduled task hits, or the recurring task, they show up as todo today. that’s it. it’s simple. that’s all you need to worry about. changed your mind? no problem. just punt. it’ll be back, eventually. you can think about it later, if it’s just too much to think about today.
rewards that work for you
we don’t get a dopamine hit from completing a task. we aren’t motivated by completion, or social pressures like expectations. we get dopamine from discovery, from helping others, from learning something new. we are motivated by urgency, or passion, or discovery.
most apps are built for people with typical motivation and reward centers. ganbare yo tries to be different. as you complete tasks, you get to discover something new. every day a new background image, whether charming, or bizarre, or fun, becomes more and more visible. clear your task list to discover what it is.
but doesn’t that add pressure to complete your tasks? not really. i never said “complete”, i said “clear”. that does mean “make a decision”. you want to complete the task? great! proud of you, boo. the task is too much? no worries! punt! the task is cleared either way, and you still get one step closer to seeing the image. you are rewarded for making a decision and moving forward, not for completion, and you don’t have to stare at the same overdue task that has been making you feel like crap the past two months.
ganbare, yo. you can do it. and we can help.
